A survey of Virginia Insurance house hold policy owners reveals that over 65% of them were dissatisfies with their buying experience. A more disturbing revelation is the inadequate coverage and over 55% reported that they were not offered the discounts that are available to them.
Survey results among Maryland Insurance and DC insurance customers are consistent with the results in Virginia. Over 60% of Maryland insurance policy holders mentioned that they were not aware of some of the discounts such as members of certain nonprofits and credit unions can receive over 5% discounts on their premiums.
Christian Mwembo, Partner Agent at Insuranceisland quoted, “this is a gross disservice to our community” and we as agents need to be able to provide proper advise. “Many of our carriers offer discounts if you are a member of certain fraternities and Sororities, members of credit unions, employees of certain institutions etc.” quoted Mr. Mwembo.
